Common calendar abbreviations
KF = Katherine Fleischer Park, located in Wells Branch on Klattenhoff Dr.
CAC = Capitol Area Council. These events typically require a separate sign-up and may have a fee. See CAC website www.bsacac.org for details.
The Raingutter Regatta is an event where Scouts race small, handmade sailboats down a water-filled "race track." The boats are propelled by blowing on the sail, and the first boat to reach the end of the track wins. It's a fun, hands-on activity that encourages creativity and friendly competition.
The Pinewood Derby is a classic Cub Scout event where Scouts design, build, and race their own wooden cars down a specially designed track. It encourages creativity, craftsmanship, and friendly competition, making it one of the most exciting and memorable traditions in Scouting.
Scout campouts are a highlight of the Cub Scout experience, offering adventure, outdoor skills, and quality family time. Our Pack typically hosts two campouts each year—one in the fall and one in the spring—where Scouts and their families enjoy hiking, games, campfire fun, and building memories under the stars.
It's My Park Day is a community service event where Scouts help care for our local parks. At the WB disc golf course, they pitch in by picking up trash and spreading mulch to keep the area clean and beautiful for everyone to enjoy.
The Luminary Festival is a festive community event where Scouts help light up the evening by placing and lighting luminaries along walkways. After the event, they show responsibility and teamwork by collecting and cleaning up all the luminary bags.
At the Wells Branch Valentine’s Day Dance, Scouts help make the evening special by greeting guests, opening doors, and handing out roses. It’s a fun way for them to practice good manners and community service with a smile.
The Blue and Gold Ceremony is a special Cub Scout tradition that celebrates the anniversary of Scouting and recognizes the achievements of Scouts throughout the year.
The AOL Crossover Ceremony celebrates Cub Scouts earning the Arrow of Light as they transition into Scouts BSA. Scouts symbolically cross a bridge to mark their next step in the Scouting journey.
The Advancement & Crossover Ceremony recognizes Scouts for the rank achievements they’ve earned throughout the year. It also marks the transition of each Scout to their next grade-level den with a fun and symbolic “crossover” moment.
Scouts proudly march in the neighborhood parade, showing community spirit and teamwork. Afterward, they join in the fun at FourthFest with games, food, and festivities for the whole family to enjoy.
