Come cheer on Pack 728 and celebrate Independence Day with Scout spirit at FourthFest, July 4 at Katherine Fleischer Park at 10 am!
Pack 728 has been a proud part of the Wells Branch community since 2013. Chartered by the Wells Branch Homestead, we’re a family-focused pack that welcomes both boys and girls to experience the fun, friendship, and adventure of Cub Scouting. Our Scouts are grouped into grade-level dens, where they explore age-appropriate activities that build confidence, character, and lifelong skills — all while having a blast.
We’re more than just a pack — we’re a community. Come be a part of the adventure!
We usually hold our monthly Pack meetings at the Wells Branch Community Center, on the last Wednesday of the month. The Pack meeting is where all the Dens come together to plan for the upcoming events and have a fun activity as a Pack.
Our dens meet at the Scout House (14611 Wells Port Dr, Austin, TX 78728) every Wednesday evening at 6:30 pm. The Den meetings are where the kids do their advancement work. This includes field trips, learning, and just having fun.

Pack 728 dues can be split into two payments—for example, two payments of $130 for new Scouts in Kindergarten through 4th grade. The first installment is due upon joining, or by the first Wednesday in September for returning Scouts. If you joined online, you have already paid the national membership fee; this amount will be deducted from your first installment. The second installment is due the first Wednesday in November.
Pack fees cover a wide range of items, including Pack 728’s recharter fee, national membership fees, insurance, campouts, Pinewood Derby, Raingutter Regatta, and other events. They also include a Class B T-shirt, belt loops or pins, rank badges, awards, and one subscription per family to Scout Life magazine.
Please note that Class A uniforms and rank handbooks are not included in the dues. Scholarships or uniform assistance may be available—ask Cubmaster Lee Logan for more information. A 25% dues discount is available for second and subsequent siblings. Dues for returning Scouts are reduced by $15 unless a replacement Class B T-shirt (the yellow Pack 728 shirt) is needed.
Payments to Pack 728 can be made in several ways. Venmo is our preferred method: @WBpack728. We also accept cash or checks (payable to Wells Branch Pack 728); please contact Treasurer Erik Andreassen to arrange payment and receive a receipt.
You can earn credit toward your dues or field trips through popcorn sales. If your Scout sells $500 worth of popcorn, you’ll receive a $75 credit toward the second installment. Selling $1,000 earns a $150 credit, and selling $1,500 includes an additional credit equal to the cost of our spring field trip.
Please note: Our annual budget is reviewed and approved each August. Also, Pack 728 covers the $65 adult membership registration fee for our amazing volunteer leaders—thank you!

Cub Scouts participate in programs that build character, encourage mental and physical fitness, and teach the importance of cooperation, citizenship, and responsibility.
Pack 728 is open to girls and boys in Kindergarten through 5th grade. While we mainly recruit from Wells Branch (Austin, TX) area schools, we welcome kids and their families from all communities.
